Tylenol/Motrin Recall 6/15/2010

On June 15, 2010 our office was notified that additional products by McNeil are being recalled for the same reasons as those recalled in January. These products are:

Tylenol Extra Strength rapid release gel caps and

Benadryl Allergic Ultratab tablets

In January of 2010, McNeil Pharmaceuticals recalled some of their pediatric over-the-counter medications. The recall was voluntary because some of these products did not meet required quality standards. This recall was not undertaken on the basis of adverse medical events.

The products being recalled in January contain Tylenol, Motrin, Benadryl, or Zyrtec and are in liquid/syrup form. As of June, the recalled products are including gel tabs and tablets.

You can type in the NDC number of the products that you have in your home to see if they are on the recall list. The NDC number is found on the box and on the product label.

IMPORTANT: FIND THE PART OF THE WEBSITE THAT REQUESTS THE NDC NUMBER. IF YOU SEE A BOX ASKING FOR A LOT NUMBER, GO TO A DIFFERENT AREA OF THE RECALL WEBSITE. Entering the lot number may not give you accurate information.
